Transportation Policy (Shipping & Delivery)
What's included when RIGR arranges transport and delivery for your equipment — and what isn't, unless your quotation says so.
1. Scope of This Policy
This policy governs the transportation of equipment to and from a Renter's site when arranged through RIGR, separately from the equipment rental fee itself. It applies to every booking where transport is arranged by RIGR, whether booked directly with a RIGR quotation or coordinated through an Owner on the RIGR platform.
2. Transportation Is a Separate, Chargeable Service
Transportation is provided at an additional cost over and above the equipment rental charges. This cost depends on factors such as distance, equipment size and weight, vehicle type required, and route accessibility, and will always be communicated to you as a distinct line item in your quotation before you confirm a booking.
3. What Is Included by Default
Unless your quotation states otherwise, the transportation charge covers only the movement of the equipment itself, by an appropriate carrier vehicle, from the designated origin (RIGR's yard, an Owner's yard, or another agreed pickup point) to the delivery address you provide, and — where applicable — the return transport of the equipment at the end of the rental period.
4. What Is Excluded by Default
The following services are not included in the standard transportation charge, and will only apply if they are explicitly listed in your written quotation:
- Unloading of the equipment at the delivery site.
- Packing or securing of the equipment beyond what is required for safe transit.
- Handling, including positioning, rigging, or maneuvering the equipment into its final working location on site.
- Insurance covering the equipment while in transit or during loading/unloading.
If you need any of the above, tell us before booking so it can be quoted and confirmed in writing — do not assume any of these services are included by default.
5. Your Quotation Is the Governing Document
Only the services explicitly listed in your written quotation are included in the price you pay. Any service not mentioned in the quotation is considered excluded, and will be treated as a separate, additional charge if you request it after booking. If anything in this policy appears to conflict with your specific quotation, the quotation takes precedence for that booking.
6. Your Responsibilities as the Renter
Unless unloading and handling have been separately arranged and confirmed in your quotation, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring the delivery site is accessible to the carrier vehicle and safe to unload at.
- Arranging suitable manpower, machinery, or equipment to receive and position the delivered equipment.
- Having an authorised person present at the agreed delivery window to receive the equipment and sign for its condition on arrival.
- Obtaining any local permits or permissions required for oversized or heavy-vehicle access to your site, where applicable.
7. Insurance During Transit
Transit insurance is optional and is not included in the standard transportation charge. If you would like the equipment insured while in transit, this must be requested and confirmed in writing before dispatch, and will appear as a separate item in your quotation. Without transit insurance, RIGR's liability for loss or damage occurring during transportation is limited to what applies under the standard terms of the carrier engaged for that shipment, and to the extent required by applicable law.
8. Scheduling and Delays
Transportation is scheduled for the date and time window agreed at booking. Delays caused by circumstances outside RIGR's reasonable control — including traffic, weather, road closures, or delays in obtaining site access permits — are not treated as a breach of this policy. We will keep you informed and work with you to reschedule as quickly as possible if a delay occurs.
9. Charges and Payment
Transportation charges are payable as specified in your quotation. Unless your quotation states different terms, transportation charges are due on the same schedule as your equipment rental payment.
10. Damage During Transit
If equipment is damaged during transit and transit insurance was purchased for that shipment, the claims process set out at the time insurance was confirmed will apply. If transit insurance was not purchased, liability is limited as described in Section 7, and any claim will be assessed against the carrier's standard terms and applicable law.
